The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act of 2013 established Patel Law College’s Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell (ASHC). The Cell is committed to keeping all students, educators, and staff in a dignified, safe, and secure environment.
Through training, counseling sessions, and awareness campaigns, it actively attempts to prevent sexual harassment. In compliance with institutional and legal regulations, the Cell also guarantees that complaints are handled equitably and in confidence.
By encouraging awareness, responsibility, and inclusivity among the campus community, ASHC supports the college’s dedication to gender equality, respect, and integrity.
Objectives of the Cell
- To prevent sexual harassment through regular awareness and sensitization programs.
- To ensure a safe and supportive campus environment for students and staff.
- To receive and address complaints of sexual harassment promptly and confidentially.
- To provide guidance, counseling, and redressal to the aggrieved individuals.
- To promote gender sensitivity and equality through education and dialogue.
Activities
The Cell successfully organized a Seminar and Workshop on the Legal Framework of the POSH Act, 2013, aimed at creating awareness about workplace ethics and women’s safety.
The sessions featured expert speakers and active student participation, enhancing understanding of gender sensitivity and legal protections against sexual harassment.
